What does the Gas Safety Check (CP12) involve?
It is important to have your gas appliances, fittings and flues inspected annually for their safe operation (a legal requirement if you are a landlord). Regular and proper maintenance of gas appliances reduces the risk of Carbon Monoxide poisoning. With over 25 years of combined experience, our Gas Safe Registered engineers will carry out a comprehensive inspection of all gas appliances.
This includes the following:
- Check each gas appliance is correctly installed and safely positioned
- Check any flue (or chimney) serving the appliance is safe and installed correctly (including a flue combustion test)
- Complete a visual inspection of the gas appliance, checking for corrosion, leaks and the electrical connection
- Check the electrical connection of your gas appliances
- Check the appliances and controls are operating correctly with all safety devices working
- Test the rate of gas consumption to ensure the appliance is operating correctly
